The National Development Agency (RDB) has revealed that the fact that Rwanda has signed a cooperation agreement with the Aston Villa team without backing down in promoting tourism through the ‘Visit Rwanda” program emphasizes that there is no small customer.
On July 14, 2026, the Government of Rwanda through the National Development Board (RDB) signed a cooperation agreement with the Aston Villa team to promote its tourism on its clothing where the Visit Rwanda logo is planned to be written on the front of the chest.
Under this agreement, the Visit Rwanda logo will be prominently displayed on all Aston Villa team balls including men’s, women’s and youth teams and other important places.
In a press conference on August 11, 2026, the Executive Director of the Rwanda Nature Foundation (Rwanda Nature Foundation), said that there are many expectations from this agreement.
He said: Just because we signed a deal with Aston Villa doesn’t mean we’ve gone from top to bottom. In Kinyarwanda they say that there is no small club, and we have to expand our relationship, cooperation, we believe that the contract we have with Aston Villa will lead us to more and we are ready to make contracts with others where possible.”
In 2025 tourism will earn the country 685 million dollars (890 billion Frw), up from 647 million US dollars in 2024.
This was accompanied by the fact that Rwanda received 1.49 million visitors, an increase of 9% compared to the previous year.
In that year, the National Parks of Rwanda received 155,394 visitors with an income of 40.8 million US dollars.
In 2025, Volcanoes National Park continued to be the top revenue earner. It grossed 35.8 million US dollars with 88% of its total revenue coming from the Parks.
Nyungwe National Park has seen the fastest increase in the number of visitors, which is attributed to new tourism activities including ‘Zipline’ and rope riding.
