KIGALI, Rwanda – Prominent Rwandan entrepreneur and industrialist Dr. Sina Gerard has unveiled a new collection of Made-in-Rwanda apparel and locally manufactured school notebooks at the 29th Rwanda International Trade Fair (Expo 2026), reaffirming his commitment to innovation, industrial growth, and the promotion of locally made products.

The new products were officially presented on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, during a press briefing held at the Expo grounds in Gikondo, Kigali, where Dr. Sina highlighted his company’s continued efforts to expand Rwanda’s manufacturing sector while increasing the visibility of Rwandan products on regional and global markets.

Speaking to journalists, Dr. Sina said Entreprise Sina Gerard Urwibutso has maintained its tradition of introducing a new innovation every year at the annual trade fair.

“We are proud to continue showcasing new innovations every year at the Rwanda International Trade Fair. Our vision starts with agriculture and livestock farming, followed by value addition through manufacturing before distributing our products across Rwanda, Africa and international markets. Today, many of our products have reached consumers around the world, proving that Rwandan industries can compete on the global stage,” he said.

Promoting Rwanda’s Textile Industry

Among this year’s highlights is a new clothing line entirely designed and manufactured in Rwanda under the Made in Nyirangarama brand, reflecting the country’s growing textile and garment industry.

According to Dr. Sina, the company now has the capacity to produce a wide variety of garments for different categories of customers.

“We can now manufacture virtually every type of clothing. Whatever design or style customers are looking for, we have the ability to produce it here in Rwanda while maintaining high standards of quality,” he said.

He noted that the initiative aligns with Rwanda’s broader Made in Rwanda campaign, which seeks to strengthen domestic manufacturing, create employment opportunities, and reduce dependence on imported goods.

Affordable School Notebooks for Learners

In addition to the clothing collection, Dr. Sina introduced a new range of locally produced school notebooks, manufactured at his Nyirangarama-based facilities.

He explained that the notebooks are intended to improve access to affordable learning materials for students while supporting local production.

“These notebooks are more than ordinary stationery. They are educational tools produced by Rwandans for Rwandans. We also want them to serve as a platform for promoting local products and services, ensuring that our message reaches students and families across the country,” he said.

The notebooks represent another milestone in Sina’s efforts to invest in Rwanda’s education sector by providing quality products at affordable prices.

Educational Publications Receive Official Recognition

The notebooks complement a collection of educational books previously authored by Dr. Sina Gerard, several of which have already been reviewed and approved by Rwanda’s education authorities.

He expressed gratitude to the Government of Rwanda, the Ministry of Education, and the Rwanda Basic Education Board (REB) for recognizing the educational value of the publications.

“I sincerely appreciate the Government of Rwanda, the Ministry of Education and REB for evaluating my books and acknowledging their contribution to educating young people and promoting positive values. Schools can now acquire and use these books as teaching resources,” he said.

A Leading Figure in Rwanda’s Industrial Transformation

Dr. Sina Gerard is widely recognized as one of Rwanda’s most influential entrepreneurs. Through Entreprise Sina Gerard Urwibutso, headquartered in Nyirangarama, Rulindo District, he has built a diversified business empire based on agriculture, livestock farming, food processing, manufacturing and beverage production.
