Football player Kimenyi Yves and model and Miss Photogenic of Miss Rwanda 2019, Uwase Muyango, have begun the process of legal separation, after a few years of engagement.
On this Friday, August 14, 2026, the two appeared at the Kibagabaga District Court, where the trial regarding their divorce began.
The trial was held in private, as is customary in family relations cases.
Even though they were attending court in a divorce case, those present saw Kimenyi Yves and Muyango sitting next to each other and talking quietly. No apparent conflict was found between them at that time.
Their separation comes after domestic problems are discussed
The step to go to court comes after there were reports that the two are no longer living as husband and wife.
However, until now, neither of them had publicly announced that their relationship had come to an end or given any details about what was going on in their home.
Kimenyi Yves and Uwase Muyango got engaged before the law on January 2, 2024, a few days later they had a wedding attended by celebrities and various other people.
Their wedding took place on January 6, 2024, and they were engaged by Bishop Emmanuel Karemera at the Living Word Church.
Their romance has been rumored since 2019
Kimenyi Yves and Muyango’s relationship started to be talked about in 2019, when Muyango became famous after winning the Miss Photogenic crown in Miss Rwanda 2019.
At that time, Kimenyi was also one of the most important goalkeepers in football in Rwanda, who played for major teams and the national team Amavubi.
In February 2021, Kimenyi put a love ring on Muyango, asking her to be his wife.
In August of that year, they gave birth to a son named Kimenyi Miguel Yanis, before they continued planning their home life and got married.

Kimenyi Yves is one of Rwandan football players who have been playing for a long time, where he played for different major teams including APR FC, Rayon Sports, Kiyovu Sports and AS Kigali.
