The residents of Kiganda Village, Kiruri Cell, Mukingo Sector in Nyanza District, are in confusion after the body of their neighbor Kangire Herena was found in his finger farm.

People say that they are surprised by the death of this mother, because there was no known medical problem that could make them suspect that she died of illness.

Kandi Melanie, one of the neighbors of the deceased, said that the people were shocked to see his body in the field.

“We were very surprised to find the body of our neighbor Kangire Herena in the field. He fell on his finger. We didn’t know that he had any problems so we could say that he was sick.”

Another resident who lives near this family, Karemera, said that Kangire was a person who gets along well with others, asking the relevant authorities to conduct a thorough investigation to determine the cause of his death.

“This mother was an honest person and gets along well with everyone. We ask the security agencies to take up this matter and conduct a thorough investigation to find out what happened to this mother, because we don’t know if it was a crime or if it was a natural death.”

The Spokesperson of the Rwanda Police in the Southern Province, CIP Hassan Kamanzi, said that the Police and the National Prosecution Service (RIB) have arrived at the location of the body and that the investigation has begun.

He said:

“Police and RIB have arrived, an investigation will be conducted to determine the cause of the death of this resident.”

CIP Kamanzi went on to say that the body of the deceased was immediately taken to Nyanza Hospital for a medical examination, which will help in determining the cause of death.

So far, the police department has not announced the cause of Kangire Herena’s death, while the investigation and medical examination are ongoing.
